Rincones Recorridos is a initiative launched in 2019 to create ethnographic documentaries. The objective is to raise awareness of issues relating to social and cultural anthropology through screenings and discussions of our audiovisual projects. Rincones Recorridos is aimed at academic researchers, university students, students in other educational settings and the general public.
During the documentary-making process and the screenings, we aim to make a positive impact on the societies where we work and to encourage critical thinking by fostering a greater understanding of cultural diversity. By creating materials for this purpose, the project reflects an applied approach to the field of Social and Cultural Anthropology.
Our projects are based on the following intersecting elements:
- The gender perspective
Exploring a diverse range of cultural settings, we are keen to observe and understand how different gender identities are established and what social roles people occupy according to the categories they are assigned. The voices of women and dissident identities are present even in audiovisual content where gender is not the main theme. The gender perspective is a key component of our post-screening discussions and working materials.
- The community dimension
Los proyectos generalmente están orientados a mostrar problemáticas relacionadas con minorías. Las relaciones de poder así como los contextos de reproducción de la vida y las diferentes formas de subsistencia son temas sobre a los que prestamos una especial atención.
